Stop Managing Symptoms.Start Finding Answers.

Our root-cause approach uses advanced lab testing, health history analysis, and personalized care plans to uncover what is really driving your health concerns.

Key Takeaways

  • Root-cause care looks at nutrition, lifestyle, labs, and health history to understand why symptoms happen, not just manage them.
  • Initial consultations are longer than a typical 7 to 15 minute visit, with functional lab panels that look for patterns standard bloodwork often does not test for.
  • Root Function Health works alongside your primary care doctor and specialists, not instead of them.
  • No referral is needed. You can schedule directly by calling (913) 856-4595.

Root-Cause Care That Complements Traditional Medicine

Functional medicine is about understanding why symptoms may be happening, not just managing them. We take a whole-person, root-cause approach that looks at nutrition, lifestyle, labs, and health history to identify patterns that can impact energy, digestion, hormones, metabolism, and inflammation.

We work alongside your primary care doctor and specialists, not instead of them. If you need urgent medical care, emergency evaluation, or management of a serious condition, we will always recommend appropriate medical follow-up.

Virtual Consultations Available

Can not make it in? Dr. Jeurink offers nutritional consultations via telehealth for patients across Kansas and beyond. Same root-cause approach. No drive required.

How It Works

1

We Listen

Your first visit starts with a thorough conversation, not a rushed appointment. We want to understand your full health history, your current symptoms, what you have tried, and what your goals are.

2

We Test

Based on your history and symptoms, we may recommend specific lab testing to look for patterns that standard bloodwork often misses. This can include comprehensive blood panels, food sensitivity testing, gut health analysis, hormone panels, thyroid panels, heavy metal testing, and genetic insights when appropriate.

3

We Find the Root Cause

We do not guess. We analyze your test results alongside your health history to identify what is actually driving your symptoms, not just what label fits.

Genetic nutritional analysis is available to any patient at Root Function Health. We work with raw data from services like MyHeritage, Ancestry, or 23andMe — we do not need the health analysis from those companies, just the raw data. If you do not already have raw data, we can help you determine which service makes the most sense for you. We discuss how genetic insights may be especially beneficial based on your history and individual health goals.

4

We Build Your Plan

Your care plan is specific to you. Depending on what we find, it may include nutritional changes, targeted supplementation, lifestyle modifications, chiropractic care, HBOT sessions, or a combination. No templates. No one-size-fits-all protocols.

5

We Stay With You

We monitor your progress, retest when appropriate, and adjust your plan as you improve.

Common Questions

How is this different from my regular doctor?

Your primary care doctor is essential, and we work alongside them. The difference is time and approach. A typical medical appointment is 7 to 15 minutes. Our initial consultations are much longer. We also run functional lab panels that look for patterns standard bloodwork often does not test for.

Is this covered by insurance?

Root-cause health services are generally not covered by insurance. We will provide an estimate of the most common services. All services are customized based on your history and exam and will be discussed and agreed upon during your visit.

How long until I see improvement?

It depends on your condition and how long you have been dealing with it. Some patients notice changes within weeks; others with complex issues may need several months. We will set realistic expectations from day one.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can schedule directly by calling our office.
