Our Story
We are a small office. We know our patients by name.
Gardner, KS · Est. 2001
Root Function Health started with a simple belief: your body has the ability to heal when you give it the right support.
Dr. Tobi Jeurink opened her chiropractic clinic in Gardner, KS in 2001 and quickly realized that many of her patients needed more than adjustments. They were tired, inflamed, struggling with digestion, hormones, and conditions that no one could explain. So she went deeper. She completed a 300 hour postgraduate program to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists (DABCI), one of the most rigorous diagnostic certifications available to chiropractors.
Over two decades later, Root Function Health has grown into a practice that combines chiropractic care, advanced diagnostic testing, nutritional support, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, all under one roof. We added Dr. Kristine Edgren to the team, bringing specialized prenatal care, dry needling, and a whole-body approach that patients love.
How We Work
We Listen
Your first visit starts with a thorough conversation. We want to understand your full health history, your current symptoms, what you have tried, and what your goals are.
We Test
Based on your history and symptoms, we may recommend specific lab testing to look for patterns that standard bloodwork often misses.
We Find the Root Cause
We do not guess. We analyze your test results alongside your health history to identify what is actually driving your symptoms.
Genetic nutritional analysis is available to any patient at Root Function Health. We work with raw data from services like MyHeritage, Ancestry, or 23andMe — we do not need the health analysis from those companies, just the raw data. If you do not already have raw data, we can help you determine which service makes the most sense for you. We discuss how genetic insights may be especially beneficial based on your history and individual health goals.
We Build Your Plan
Your care plan is specific to you. No templates. No one-size-fits-all protocols.
We Stay With You
Health is not a one-visit fix. We monitor your progress, adjust your plan as needed, and make sure you are moving in the right direction.

Dr. Tobi Jeurink
DC · DABCI · FICPA · Webster Certified
Dr. Jeurink was born and raised in the small northeastern Colorado town of Wray. She grew up battling arthritis and autoimmune conditions and learned early on that most medicines are designed to manage symptoms rather than improve your health. That experience set the direction for her entire career.
She graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor's in Biology and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 2001. Shortly after, she purchased a chiropractic clinic in Gardner, KS.
Adjustments alone were not enough to help every patient who walked through her door. So she kept learning.
Advanced Training and Credentials
What is a DABCI?
A DABCI is a Doctor of Chiropractic who has completed extensive postgraduate training in internal diagnosis and clinical nutrition, one of the most comprehensive diagnostic certifications available to chiropractors.
Awards and Leadership
Dr. Jeurink is an avid runner, cyclist, hiker, swimmer, and scuba diver. She and her husband Chad love traveling and exploring the world by bike and on foot. Their retired greyhound Roo can sometimes be found hanging around the office.
Dr. Edgren brings an athletic, hands-on approach to patient care. With a background in functional nutrition and specialized certifications in prenatal care and dry needling, she helps patients of all ages, from pregnant moms to weekend athletes to seniors, move better, recover faster, and feel stronger.
Her own health journey led her to root-cause care, and she is passionate about helping patients understand how structure and function work together. Whether she is performing an adjustment, working through trigger points with dry needling, or helping a pregnant patient prepare for delivery with the Webster Technique, Dr. Edgren brings the same goal to every visit: help you feel like yourself again.
